Dear collegues,
on behalf of the Organising Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to the 43rd Scand-LAS 2013 Symposium entitled "Animated Animals", which will be held in Tallinn, Estonia, on April 17-20, 2013.
The symposium will focus on the crossroads of cinematography and animal research. We are proud to present a wide-ranging program which covers various themes, and both scientific and practical aspects of the art of visualisation in experimental animal science. The program will include plenary presentations by national and international speakers, posters, workshops, and round table discussions.
Scientific committee of the symposium proposes the following themes:
- How to visualize mice? Imaging and other techniques
- Home-cage, sweet home?
- E-courses: pain and pleasure
- Recording behavior: why and how?
- Large animals for large screens
- Biorobotics
- Different workshops on animal handling, health monitoring and analgesia standards in animal experiments
The symposium will include a social program, providing entertainment and a wonderful opportunity to network with colleagues, meet old friends and make new ones in an informal atmosphere. The venue of the symposium, Nokia Concert Hall in Solaris Centre, boosts excellent lecture halls and imposing exhibition areas.
